ROBERT TU

Design Lead

I’m currently a Design Lead at PwC Canada within the Experience Consulting Practice. I lead cross functional teams to help clients solve complex business problems using design.

As an experienced design leader with a strong business and technical background, I provide a unique perspective when it comes to delivering design solutions.

I have led multiple teams developing user experience strategies and implementing design solutions including new services and products,  design patterns, and information architectures. I have worked with clients in financial services, retail, technology and various governments.

I started off my career as an engineer but the design bug bit me and I went back to school to study graphic design at OCAD University in Toronto, Canada. Since then I transitioned into user experience design and eventually ended becoming a design lead.

I'm passionate about designing new products and services, thinking through complex and challenging problems, leading teams with diverse backgrounds and working with clients across different industries

QUALITATIVE RESEARCH

My experience as an account manager helped me develop active listening skills and determine the real problem that customers were trying to solve. This experience has served me well in developing insights on users to then develop relevant solutions.

PROTOTYPING

My experience launching a startup and using prototypes to constantly test the market helped me develop an iterative and constant improvement mindset. My prototyping experience spans both hardware, software and services

LEADERSHIP

I've been leading teams well before I transitioned into design; my leadership style is collaborative and ensuring my team can do their best by removing any barriers they face in getting the job done.

WHEN I'M NOT WORKING

You can find me travelling and taking photographs of cool places or folding origami animals
